we try to handle only what is needed to operate and improve be steadied. depending on how you use the app, information may include:

• local app content: prayer preferences, reminders, selected goals, devotional choices, burden prompts, journal entries, and similar content you choose to save in the app. this content is stored on your device and is not sent anywhere.
• app activity: feature interactions, onboarding progress, how you say you found us, streak counts, completed prayer counts, notification permission status, reminder counts, and other usage details that help the app work as expected.
• device and diagnostic information: device type, operating system, app version, performance data, and attribution information such as which ads or links introduced someone to be steadied.
• purchase information: subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction details provided by Apple or another payment provider. we do not receive your full payment card number.
• support information: your email address and the details you include when you contact us for help.

be steadied does not require you to create an account to use the core app experience. prayer history, profile selections, reminder times, and similar personal app data may be stored locally on your device so the app can remember your progress and preferences.

because local data is controlled by your device, deleting the app or clearing app data may remove this information. your device backup settings may also affect whether local data is backed up through Apple or your device provider.

we use information to:

• provide prayer, scripture, reflection, reminder, journal, and progress features.
• personalize the app around your selected goals, rhythm, and preferences.
• process subscriptions and unlock paid features when applicable.
• respond to support requests and troubleshoot problems.
• measure app performance, understand general usage, improve the product, and prevent misuse.
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

be steadied may generate or select prayer, scripture, and reflection content based on your in-app choices. prayer text, burden prompts, and journal entries are stored on your device and are not sent anywhere.

prayers and reflections are intended for personal devotional and wellness support. they are not medical care, therapy, crisis counseling, professional advice, or a substitute for pastoral, theological, or clinical guidance.

if you are in immediate danger or experiencing a mental health emergency, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis resource right away.

paid features or subscriptions may be offered through the App Store or another payment provider shown at purchase. billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by that provider under its own terms. you can manage App Store subscriptions through your Apple account settings.

we use PostHog and may use other third-party analytics, diagnostics, advertising attribution, and paywall or subscription tools to understand whether the app is working properly, which features are useful, which ads or links introduce people to be steadied, and how subscription screens perform. these tools may receive device, app, usage, purchase, subscription, attribution, product interaction, and other usage information.

our current PostHog setup tracks selected app events, such as onboarding progress, how you say you found us, app lifecycle events, home screen views, prayer starts and completions, prayer counts, streak counts, closeness and peace scores, reminder counts, and notification or tracking permission results.

we do not send PostHog the text of your prayers, burden prompts, journal entries, display name, selected goals, prayer preferences, or reminder times. we do not currently enable PostHog session replay, automatic screen capture, or automatic element interaction capture.

we may rely on third-party providers to operate and improve the app, including app stores, payment processors, analytics platforms such as PostHog, paywall and subscription management tools, diagnostics providers, hosting providers, notification tools, and support tools. these providers process information according to their own privacy practices and our instructions where applicable.

we do not sell your personal information. we may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

• notifications: you can change notification permissions in your device settings.
• subscriptions: you can manage or cancel subscriptions through the App Store or the payment provider used for purchase.
• local data: you can delete app data by deleting the app or using any in-app deletion controls we provide.
• tracking permissions: where available, you can adjust tracking and advertising permissions in your device settings.
• privacy requests: you may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other action related to information we control.

we use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information we control. no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. we keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law, dispute resolution, security, or legitimate business needs.

be steadied is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. if you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

we may update this privacy policy from time to time. when we make changes, we will update the effective date above. your continued use of be steadied after a policy update means the updated policy applies to your use going forward.
